Harbinger — the Pathogen's hunting hand

The Harbinger is the sequel's flagship Pathogen mutant: a multi-armed horror that tracks a Marine down and pins them in place. Behavior and counters from Cold Iron's official briefing via G2A and AvP Central.

What the Harbinger does

The Harbinger is a new Pathogen-strain enemy (AvP Central) — a creature twisted by the black-goo Pathogen that returns as a full faction in the sequel (GamingBolt). Descriptions of the design note a multi-armed body with a gaping maw (G2A).

Its combat role, per the official briefing (via G2A): the Harbinger tracks a target and grabs them, immobilizing the Marine. A pinned Marine can't shoot, can't dodge, and is a free meal for everything else in the room.

Squad tips

The Harbinger is the sequel's answer to spread-out skirmish play: it punishes the lone-wolf Duelist hardest. Pair at least one buddy per flanker. A Medic with the Guardian Kit modifier — 20 temporary health and 20% damage reduction for 3 seconds, per GamingBolt's hands-on — buys the pinned player the seconds the squad needs to respond.
