Siren — the wave multiplier
The Siren is a new Xenomorph strain with one job: making your fight worse by calling more of the hive. Its mechanic and the priority-kill counter come from Cold Iron's official briefing via G2A.
What the Siren does
The Siren is a new strain confirmed on AvP Central's bestiary. Per the official enemy briefing (via G2A), the Siren calls in reinforcements. Left alive, it converts a manageable pack into an escalating swarm — the single fastest way to lose a mission on higher difficulties.
How to counter it
- Kill it first. Always. The official counter is explicit: the Siren is a priority target (G2A). Everything else in the room is a distraction until the Siren is down.
- Mark and call. The moment anyone spots a Siren, the whole squad should know. Target-calling discipline beats raw aim here.
- Interrupt windows. Burst it during its call animation rather than trading with the wave it's summoning.
Squad tips
Sirens punish squads without target discipline more than any other strain. A Hunter marking priority targets — the class's kit includes the No Rest weakness-damage perk per GamingBolt — is the cleanest Siren answer. If your group keeps getting overwhelmed, the problem usually isn't DPS: it's a Siren screaming off-screen. Check our threat-level ranking for where it sits in the overall priority order.
