Crusher — the armored battering ram
The Crusher is the hive's heavy cavalry: an armored Xenomorph that commits to a straight-line frontal charge. Behavior and counters sourced from Cold Iron's official briefing via G2A and AvP Central's roster.
What the Crusher does
The Crusher is a returning strain from the first game, confirmed on the sequel's roster by AvP Central. Per the official enemy briefing (via G2A), its signature move is a frontal charge — it lowers its head and runs straight through your firing line, punishing anyone standing their ground.
How to counter it
- Sidestep, don't backpedal. The official counter is to dodge sideways as it commits (G2A). Backpedaling keeps you inside the charge lane.
- Punish the recovery. After the charge whiffs, the Crusher has to turn — that window is your burst window.
- Armor-piercing pressure. Heavy-hitting weapons and AP ammo (see elemental & special ammo) shorten every exchange against armored targets.
Squad tips
Never let a Crusher charge compress your squad into a corridor where an Exploder can finish the job — the two strains combo brutally. A Marauder's explosive ordnance is the classic armored-target answer. On higher difficulties, friendly fire is live: hold explosives until the Crusher is clear of teammates.
