Drone — the vent-crawling stalker

The Drone is the backbone Xenomorph of the hive: fast, aggressive, and happy to leave the floor entirely. Behavior and counters below come from Cold Iron's official enemy briefings via G2A and GamingBolt's hands-on coverage.

What the Drone does

Per Cold Iron's enemy briefing (via G2A), the Drone is fast and hits hard in melee, and uses vents to flank your position. If your squad tunnels on the corridor ahead, a Drone will happily pop out of a vent behind your Medic.

GamingBolt's hands-on adds that Xenomorphs in the sequel are generally more evasive: they climb walls and ceilings, sidestep to dodge fire, and try to get around behind you — treat every Drone as mobile, not a target dummy.

How to counter it

Squad tips

Automatic weapons with tight spread (see the weapons database) track evasive Drones better than slow heavy hitters. A Hunter's kit — built around marking and stopping power per GamingBolt — is a natural Drone answer. For wave defense, pair Drone control with Siren priority so you are not fighting two fronts at once.
