Endless war

Horde Mode — survive the escalation

Horde mode is the sequel's endurance test: dedicated maps, escalating waves, better rewards the deeper you go. Sourced from official feature coverage via DSOGaming and AvP Central.

How Horde works

Official feature coverage describes it plainly: multiple dedicated Horde maps where your fireteam battles escalating waves of Xenomorphs and other enemies, earning increasingly valuable rewards as you survive deeper (DSOGaming). These maps are exclusive to the mode rather than recycled campaign arenas (AvP Central).

What the waves throw at you

Official coverage stresses tool-usage variety: expect to use stun batons up close and pyro and electric ammo to thin the swarm before it overruns your squad (DSOGaming). Translation: crowd control and elemental damage (see special ammo) are Horde currency, not gimmicks.

Survival doctrine

Horde vs campaign

Campaign missions teach mechanics; Horde tests them at scale. It's also the best training ground for Extreme and Insane, since high-tier campaign fights use the same escalation logic (GamingBolt). Track the mode's dedicated page in our Horde hub.
